DARLINGTON have completed the signing of former Middlesbrough striker Craig Hignett.

The 34-year-old has joined Quakers after failing to earn a long-term deal with Leeds United.

Hignett passed a medical at the Williamson Motors Stadium this morning before putting pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the club until the end of the season, with a one-year option.

The move comes just a day after the Football League give Quakers the go-ahead to come out of administration.

Hignett will make his Quakers debut at Rochdale on Saturday.
