A YOUNG rider has won her third pony club event this season - despite the fact she is just eight years of age.
Lucinda Elliott, of Hilton, near Ingleton, finished first in the Zetland Pony Club junior one-day event at Foxberry Chasers, adding to her victory in the South Durham Hunt Pony Club one-day event as well as her win in the Richmond Equestrian Centre one-day event.
Lucinda's younger sister, six-year-old Samantha, won the lead rein class in the Zetland competition.
Results. - Lead rein: 1 Samantha Elliott (best dressage and best Zetland); 2 Mina Trotter.
10yrs & under: 1 Lucinda Elliott (best dressage and best Zetland, E Manneri Cup presented); 2 Miranda Turner; 3 Kate Swinbank.
13yrs & under (sponsored by Horse & Pony magazine): 1 Sophie McDearmid (best dressage); 2 Laura Ritchie-Bland (best Zetland); 3 Inkie Ralph.
