A DRIVER who forgot to buy a parking ticket sent her £30 penalty cheque to Harrogate Borough Council with a poem.
Unlike most letters from drivers who have to pay parking tickets, the one from a lady from Gainsborough, in Lincolnshire, brightened the day of staff in the parking administration team.
So they responded in verse.
Councillor Julian Sturdy, cabinet member for public works, said: "Not all people take their parking tickets in this way and the staff sometimes receive quite unpleasant letters.
"So when this driver took the trouble to burst into verse the staff brought a human touch to the situation with a special reply."
