ROCK and pop students have got the blues only a week after starting at Darlington College of Technology.
Nineteen students studying the Advanced Rock and Pop course have started working on their first gig.
The tunes of artists ranging from Santana to Ray Charles will be heard at the young musicians' big night on Friday, September 24.
Performing arts tutor Andrew Meadowcroft will stage the concert in the college's restaurant, the Oak Room.
"It will be a cultural event blending the flavours of the Deep South with the blues," he said.
"Blues is a really great sound for the students to start with as so many other types of music lead naturally from it. This is a really great way to kick off the new term."
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets costs £5, including a buffet prepared by the catering department.
