A WOMAN who cycled and walked more than 137 miles around England's largest county has raised £800 for a hospital.
Eve Cawood from Hornby, near Bedale, donated the money to the Friarage Hospital's Mowbray suite. In July, she walked more than 37 miles and cycled 100 miles around North Yorkshire, despite having had a hip operation and being ill recently.
The money will go towards patient comforts and providing an aromatherapy service. Ms Cawood said: "I wanted to do something to help and say thank you to the suite's wonderful staff for the excellent and caring service they provide and for looking after me so well when I was a patient."
Sister Susan Whitehead said: "The generosity of local people never ceases to amaze me."
