TV PRESENTER Roger Tames is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for a children's charity when he takes part in the Great North Run later this month.
Mr Tames, head of sport at Tyne Tees Television, is strapping on his running shoes in aid of the Yellow Brick Road Appeal for the Children's Foundation.
"I'm flattered that The Children's Foundation Yellow Brick Road Appeal has asked me to run on its behalf," he said. "I have been reporting on it more often than running it. I only hope I can turn out a decent time. I am really looking forward to running for this charity and hope that I can persuade people to sponsor me."
