Police are concerned for the welfare of a 55-year-old man who went missing from hospital last Wednesday.
Francis Macmillan, who lived in Germany until returning to the UK in June, speaks with a German accent.
The retired coal truck driver, who was suffering from depression, is 5ft 10in, slim, with a fair complexion and collar-length white hair.
He was wearing a black suit and yellow-framed ski sunglasses when he went missing from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Gateshead.
