NATIONAL Park offices in the Yorkshire Dales are to benefit from high-speed broadband connections.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has joined the North Yorkshire County Council Wide Area Network.
For the next five years, the seven national park offices and park centres, and the headquarters in Bainbridge, will share the benefits of the network.
As well as high-speed broadband connections and internet access, the transmission system is capable of handling internal telephone calls between sites.
The chairman of the Dales National Park Authority, Councillor Steve Macar, said: "The county council had the foresight and capacity to bring their network within our reach and we are very pleased to be part of their vision of e-enabled businesses and communities."
North Yorkshire County Council's e-government champion, Councillor Carl Les, said: "We are already in discussions with other public bodies and I am convinced that they too will recognise the value of joining us."
