OFFICE workers have got their hands dirty to help improve a Teesside nature reserve.
Staff at the Thornaby branch of the gas and electricity suppliers npower worked at the Brewsdale wooded nature reserve at Hilton, near Ingleby Barwick.
The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust had called for volunteers to restore dilapidated paths and tracks to attract more visitors.
Essential tasks carried out by the npower volunteers included clearing vegetation from steps, mending supporting pathway boards and creating drains to direct water away from the public walkways.
Julie Jaglowski, npower's human resource manager, said: "Being creative with our energies, while giving something back to the local community, is something we love to encourage our employees to do."
