YOUNG people from Stockton will have the chance to discover what life is like in the capital thanks to a donation from a local company.
Armstrong Flooring will donate £2,000 to Stockton Borough Council's youth and leaving care team.
The team is planning outdoor activities for some of the youngsters as well as organising a cultural weekend in London, where six young people will see a show and do some sightseeing.
Steve Jukes, from the team, said: "We thought a cultural visit to London would be a chance for our young people to experience another part of the country.
"A lot of these teenagers may never have had the chance to go far beyond the Tees Valley, and this trip will hopefully broaden their horizons."
As well as the trip to London and the outdoor activities, the team will spend some of the money on a project to develop the garden at the rear of their Hartington Road premises.
The project will help another group of youngsters, aged 16 to 19, improve their gardening, DIY skills and teamwork.
