A MAN who damaged a door belonging to his former partner when she refused to let him in her house has been given a six-month conditional discharge.
Carl Nimmo, 23, of Pensbury Street, Darlington, admitting causing £100-worth of damage to a door at South Durham magistrates' court yesterday.
James Thomas, prosecuting, said Nimmo went round to Karen Littlefair's house on August 15, but would not leave when she asked him to and instead slept in her garden.
"About 5.20am when it started to rain he tried to get back in the house and she refused access," said Mr Thomas.
He said Nimmo was banging on the back door until eventually the bottom panel of the door was broken.
He said Ms Littlefair did not want compensation and was on good terms again with him.
Nimmo was also ordered to pay £55 costs
