TRAVELLERS who illegally set up camp in a North-East park have moved on, council officials said last night.
However, some of the seven caravans moved from Springfield Park, in Darlington, have only moved as far as land on the nearby Red Hall estate.
Last week, residents and park users had complained of anti-social behaviour from the travellers' children, and human faeces on the football field.
A notice has now been served by Darlington Borough Council to move the travellers from Red Hall.
The authority is now waiting for the date of a court hearing, at which it hopes to gain permission to clear them off the estate.
