A PEDESTRIAN is fighting for his life after he was crushed by a car in a freak accident yesterday.
The man, who has not been named, was walking in West Farm Road, Longbenton, North Tyneside, when a bus and a car collided at 11.30am.
The impact flipped the car on to its roof, trapping the man underneath the vehicle, and the woman driver inside.
Firefighters cut free the woman and lifted the car to rescue the man. He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital with serious chest and head injuries, two broken legs and a broken pelvis.
The woman was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital with neck and hand injuries
