A WOMAN who exposed her breasts to police after repeatedly dialing 999 had suffered a personality change after a head injury, a court heard yesterday.

Christina Llewellyn, 38, of Bank Top Mews, Darlington, admitted behaving in an indecent manner at the town's police station.

James Thomas, prosecuting, told South Durham Magistrates' Court that police received a call at 11pm on August 23 to say Llewellyn had been assaulted.

They went to her home and found the door open and her in bed, with bottles of alcohol and antibiotics on the floor. Paramedics attended but Llewellyn refused to go to hospital.

"It was noted she was getting more aggressive," said Mr Thomas.

He added that 50 minutes later another 999 call was received from Llewellyn.

"Officers have returned to the location and found the defendant in an agitated state, shouting and swearing," he said. "She tried to dial 999 again while they were present."

Llewellyn was taken to the police station where she struck her head on the floor before pulling her shirt up and exposing her breasts, shouting: "Is this what you want?"

Graham Hunsley, in mitigation, said his client had started offending after suffering a "significant head injury" last October.

"She required surgery to save her life," he said. "There appears to have been since that time a history of difficulty.

"She's an intelligent lady with a history of responsible employment. It's particularly sad that she finds herself in this position in her 30s."

He added that she had also been the victim of a serious assault.

Sentencing was adjourned for reports until October 12.
