AFTER two stints in the Antarctic, a geologist has returned to his home town.
Dr Christopher Griffiths, 43, has taken a job at Stockton Sixth Form College, where he was once a student. His work in the Antarctic was as a researcher for the British Antarctic Survey.
Next year, he will take over from his former teacher, John Wightman, as head of department at the college.
Mr Wightman said: "I remember his mum coming in for a chat about his studies, and when I asked her what she thought his career path should be, she replied: 'To be absolutely honest, I think he'd like your job'."
