THE owner of two runaway dogs yesterday appealed for public help in ensuring their safe return.
The two cocker spaniels - Millie and Tess pictured below - have been missing from their home near Darlington since about 1pm on Tuesday.
Catherine Fell said the situation was particularly urgent as four-year-old Millie had six puppies back at the farm, on the road between Darlington and Croft.
"They live on a farm so they often go for a run around the field, but I always find them chasing rabbits," she said.
"But this time I have no idea where they are and, with the puppies, it is important to get them back quickly."
Millie is brown and white, while one-year-old Tess is chocolate-coloured.
