PART of a town's heritage comes under the auctioneer's hammer in the North-East, next week.
Newcastle-based auctioneers Thomas Watson's are selling a collection of Linthorpe Pottery, in 75 lots, at their Northumberland Street salesroom on Tuesday.
Middlesbrough was the home of the Victorian Linthorpe Pottery, which, in association with designer Christopher Dresser, produced more than 2,000 different pieces of ceramic ware in its ten year life.
Auctioneer David Strain expects plenty of interest in the sale as Linthorpe is highly collectable. The lots can be viewed from 9am to 5pm today, 9am to 1pm tomorrow, 10am to 1pm on Sunday, and 9am to 5pm on Monday.
