A FATHERS' rights protestor brought traffic to a halt yesterday when he scaled a busy North-East bridge.
The 25-year-old Fathers 4 Justice campaigner climbed Scotswood Bridge, over the Tyne, at 6am.
Fire crews used a ladder to rescue the man when he slipped after starting to climb down after half an hour.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "He was arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance and is helping police with inquiries.
