PLANS to deal with road maintenance in Darlington during the winter months are to be considered by councillors.
Darlington Borough Council has set aside £263,000 to ensure road surfaces are safe for motorists and pedestrians during the winter season, from October 1 to April 30.
A publicity leaflet is being prepared that will detail the authority's winter services.
The leaflet will show the routes that are to be gritted and give advice on safe driving. Plans are also being drawn up to cope with icy conditions affecting shoppers in the town centre.
The issues will be discussed at a meeting of the council's cabinet on Tuesday.
