TEENAGE thespians are launching an appeal for a purpose-built theatre.
Stockton Sixth Form College is hoping the business community will sponsor a fundraising drive at the college to realise their dream.
Despite the growing popularity of theatre studies, the college has to increasingly make do with what it has got.
Nicola Mejia, who teaches English and theatre studies at the college, said: "We transform our common room into a theatre, and it works very well, but it would be wonderful to have our own designated building, and we are launching a campaign to get sponsors.
Twenty-five students are staging Oscar Wilde's comedy The Importance of Being Earnest and need Edwardian or Victorian props - especially a Gladstone bag.
Ms Mejia said: "It is a cracking play, and we are looking for the loan of any artefacts or furniture which denotes the period."
