HUNDREDS of brides and grooms-to-be enjoyed a preview of the perfect wedding at one of the region's displays yesterday.
The Northern Echo staged its Bride and Groom Autumn Exhibition 2004 at the Ramside Hall Hotel, near Durham City.
The event attracted 40 exhibitors and included three spectacular wedding fashion shows in a marquee.
Laura Bishop, of The Northern Echo's marketing department, said: "The day was an overwhelming success, with more than 2,000 people attending.
"The wedding gowns were mainly from Debenhams and Principia Bridalwear, as well as clothing from Greenwoods Menswear.
"It is the first time we have had an autumn exhibition at Ramside Hall. This is one of the biggest events of its kind in the region and further expands our services to our readers."
Specialist suppliers offering a personalised service such as Headquartez Hair, and Beauty and Utopia were also featured at the event. Yesterday's event follows The Northern Echo's successful spring exhibition at Auckland Castle.
