A WOMAN recovering from breast cancer has been chosen to become a catwalk model for the day.
Maureen Bain, 56, from Stockton, will be one of the models taking part in a London fashion show for charity Breast Cancer Care.
The mother-of-two will model clothes by famous designers like Ben de Lisi, and will meet show host Jerry Hall at the special day at the Grosvenor Hotel.
She will be one of 22 models to grace the famous Park Lane venue at the fashion show on Wednesday, October 6.
Mrs Bain was 51 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. She said that her experience has helped her appreciate life more and she is now an active member of a Breast Cancer Care support group
She said: "I have made so many friends through my Breast Cancer Care support group. I am thrilled to have the opportunity of being a model to be able to show how great we can feel and look."
Mrs Bain will wear clothes designed by designers Ben de Lisi, Catherine Walker and Betty Jackson.
Hall, host of Breast Cancer Care's afternoon fashion show, said: "The fashion show is just one of the great ways that Breast Cancer Care brings women together to talk about their experience of breast cancer and I am really pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile event."
