A METHODIST church has come to the aid of Guisborough Parish Church which has had to cancel services due to essential maintenance.
Electrical work, which started on Monday at St Nicholas' Church, in Guisborough, means that all regular services and activities at the church have been cancelled because of fears over safety.
The work is expected to take three weeks to complete.
But Guisborough's Methodist Church has been made available to worshippers at St Nicholas' Church for services on Sundays.
The usual 8am communion will be combined with the 9.15am sung Eucharist which will be brought forward to 9am.
Evening worship will be combined with the Methodist Church service at 6.15pm.
The Thursday Communion at 9.35am will be transferred to the side room of the parish hall, which should be entered via the side door.
All activities which normally take place in the church are cancelled.
A spokesperson from the Parochial Church Council of Guisborough said: "In this crisis, our friends the Methodist Church have come to our aid.
"We are most grateful for their hospitality.
"Within these arrangements, there will be no disruption of the Methodist worship."
