THE views of young people are wanted to shape council policy.

North Yorkshire County Council is running a series of workshops for Local Democracy Week next month.

Council leader John Weighell said: "Without young people really realising it, the county council is constantly working to provide the kind of services everyone needs at some stage in their lives.

"Now they can have a direct input into those services by raising their concerns and issues with us."

The workshops will be held at Richmond Town Hall on October 18, Scarborough library and information centre on October 19 and at Hyper nightclub, in East Road, Harrogate, on October 20. All events start at 6.30pm.

Issues raised at the workshops will be discussed with a panel of senior councillors at County Hall, Northallerton, on October 22 from 5.30pm.
