THE public will be given their chance to shape the future of policing in Cleveland at a meeting held tonight.

The meeting at Stockton branch library, in Church Street, Stockton, at 6.30pm, will be the third of four in the area, designed to give people the chance have their say on policing activities in Cleveland.

A similar meeting was held yesterday at Redcar and Cleveland College, in Redcar.

Chief Constable Sean Price, Police Authority chairman Ted Cox and Langbaurgh's District Commander Chief Superintendent Dee Collins all addressed the meeting.

The forum is designed to give the public direct access to the people at the top and allow them to put forward their ideas and views and influence the policy and strategy of both the force and the authority.

A meeting will also take place on Wednesday, September 29, at 6.30pm at Hartlepool Council Chambers.

Anyone who cannot attend the meetings, but still wants their views to be taken into account, can write to the consultation officer at Cleveland Police Headquarters, Freepost NEA 3893, Middlesbrough TS8 9EH, or at Have Your Say on www.cleveland.police.uk
