THREE people have been arrested after police seized a quantity of substances suspected to be drugs with a street value of £5,000.
On Friday night, following information from the public, officers went to a house on the Lakes Estate, in Redcar.
A search of a property uncovered more than 50 tablets and a substance thought to be cocaine with a total value of more than £2,000.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and later released on police bail pending forensic tests on the drugs.
On Sunday, officers went to a house in Whalehill, Eston, where they found what is thought to be cocaine with a street value of about £3,000.
Police also recovered several hundred pounds in cash.
Two people, a 35-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A spokesman from the drugs unit said all the information provided by the public on suspected drugs activity will be acted upon.
"People in the community have a major role to play in fighting the drugs menace.
"They can be our eyes and ears and help us make a difference."
