A village in Northumberland, officially the most remote community in England, has joined the race to become the UK's most enterprising community.
Kielder, which has a population of only 200, is the first location in the region to enter for the title of Enterprise Capital of the NorthEast.
Enterprising Britain is a national competition that rewards towns, cities and communities across the country using innovation and ideas to improve the area's quality of life or economic prospects.
Regional development agency One NorthEast is leading the search for a North-East candidate - a title that brings with it up to £100,000 of funding.
Kielder, created 50 years ago to meet the labour demands of forestry, underwent a regeneration programme in 2000 by Tynedale Council.
