A SCHEME allowing children to develop their footballing potential has been given a new home.
The Darlington Football in the Community team has moved into the Quakers' Williamson Motors Stadium, in Neasham Road.
The initiative, led by former Darlington player Kevin Stonehouse, was previously based in the Quaker Centre.
Now, Darlington Football Club has given scheme organisers the chance to make greater use of its facilities.
That will include youngsters playing matches on the pitch during half-time at Darlington FC home fixtures, and possibly after Quakers games.
Mr Stonehouse said: "We will be able to use the pitch and give the youngsters a thrill by playing in matches in front of League Two crowds."
Quakers chief executive Andy Battison said: "One of the key aims of this club is to engage the community and put something back into the town. A great way of doing that is to get Darlington's Football in the Community more closely allied to the club itself."
