Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq accused his batsmen of lacking responsibility after their seven-wicket defeat by the West Indies in the ICC Champions Trophy yesterday.

Pakistan were shot out for just 131 in the semi-final at the Rose Bowl as Inzamam's decision to bat after winning the toss backfired badly.

West Indies cruised to victory with 21.5 overs to spare and now face England in the final at The Oval on Saturday.

Inzamam said: ''If we had made 200-plus it would have been difficult to chase on that wicket but they bowled really well.

''It is a shame. We have been playing good cricket but some of the batsmen did not take responsibility.

''Our bowlers have done really well in past games but 131 was a very difficult total to contain.

''I am disappointed. The team is playing very good but unfortunately we are not in the final.''

West Indies were led home by vice captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, who was named man of the match after hitting an unbeaten 56.

Sarwan took control of the innings after skipper Brian Lara was forced to retire hurt on 31 after being struck on the neck by a Shoaib Akhtar bouncer.

Sarwan said: ''I though we played pretty well. I would love to continue this form going into final and into next year.

''We haven't won anything in quite a long time so it is a great opportunity.''

The final gives West Indies the chance to end their tour of England on a high after their 4-0 trouncing in the Test series.

Sarwan believes his side will carry an advantage into the match after beating England in the NatWest Series in the summer.

He said: ''I think we have the psychological advantage going into it. We played them in the NatWest and did well.''

On Lara's fitness, he added: ''He is going to be fine for the next game. There is no need to worry.''

Pakistan paceman Shoaib said: ''Lara is one of my favourite batsmen. I am sorry to have hit him but it was honest bowling."
