A BUTCHER will be selling meat at 1984 prices next week, to mark 20 years in business.
H Coates and Son in Church Street, Coxhoe, celebrates its milestone anniversary on Monday.
As a thank you to customers, it will be offering Scotch Premier Beef silverside and topside will be available at 210p per pound - the present day price is 339p per lb - on Friday and Saturday, October 1 and 2.
The family firm, owned by Harry Coates, was established by his parents, Harry and Eva Coates, who opened their first store in Trimdon in 1965.
It also includes a store in Framwellgate Moor and employs 30 people across the three sites.
