A MOTHER pulled her toddler from a house fire yesterday.
Donna Brown and her two-year-old son, Connor, were treated for the effetcs of smoke inhalation after the fire.
Mother-of-four Mrs Brown, of Stockton, said she and her son were still in shock, but that neither of them were hurt.
She said Connor had been playing with cushions in the kitchen of their Bedford Street home while she made lunch.
However, Connor went into the living room, only to return moments later saying: "Mummy, fire".
Mrs Brown said: "He had put the cushions on the gas fire and they were alight.
"The first thing I did was grab him and got him out of there. I panicked a bit, but I picked up the cushions and ran through out the back and put them out there.
"I was shocked, running up the stairs at first while I called the fire brigade. Connor was crying, the smoke alarm went off, I was in a real panic.
"The fire brigade came and extinguished everything and we got some oxygen from the ambulance paramedics."
