A RAILWAY station supervisor has won a national customer service award thanks to the pride she takes in her town and station.
Linda Green, 42, station supervisor at Redcar Central, has been named the Institute of Customer Services' (ICS) Front-line Customer Service Professional of the Year.
She was chosen from eight finalists shortlisted from more than 1,000 entrants.
The judges said: "Linda runs the station at Redcar and does everything from booking tickets to giving directions and keeping the station smart and tidy.
"She has a great pride in her town and station."
Ms Green has been in the rail industry for 21 years and has worked at Redcar Station for 16 years. In 2002, she was awarded a special commendation in the personality of the year category at the National Rail Awards.
The Arriva employee said: "I really enjoy my job and over the years I have become good friends with many of our customers who regularly call in for help.
"I am looking forward to displaying the award at the station so that customers can share in my success."
