A COUPLE are to have their wedding featured in a television pilot programme for Channel Four.
Helen Craven and Richard Farrar, both 31, spent a day being filmed for the programme, called My Daughter's Wedding.
It is based on the build up to the wedding through the eyes of Helen's mother, Susan Craven, from Brompton, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
It will also feature the service, which is being held in St Stephen's Church, Aldwark, near Easingwold, on Sunday, October 3.
Their reception will be held at Aldwark Manor Hotel, the place rumoured to have been booked by Victoria and David Beckham during Royal Ascot next year.
The couple met while serving in the Metropolitan Police, in London, and now live together near Easingwold.
Their wedding was originally planned for last May, but was cancelled after Helen's older brother, Michael, 36, became seriously ill with cancer.
He had been due to give Helen away, but the family wanted to wait until he had recovered to hold the wedding.
Susan Craven said: "He became ill in December and we got worse news in February so it was all postponed.
"We had nothing to do but concentrate on Michael getting better and he got the all clear in June."
The couple got involved with the programme through The Bridal Lounge, in Northallerton's Central Arcade. Channel Four contacted the shop looking for a fairytale wedding story and staff put them in touch with Mrs Craven.
The programme will be shown later this year or early next year during the daytime.
