Wentworth Park WI: The September meeting was held in Ouston Community Centre. The minutes of the last meeting and other business were dealt with.
We then sang happy birthday to the highest number of members to have a birthday in the same month, two of which were very special Viv Scott and Betty France. Members and two visitors enjoyed a slide show from Mr Kelly covering a century of music hall and television comedians. Margery Moodie thanked Mr Kelly on our behalf. Wenda Hill won our competition, three home-made biscuits, and Marjory Nichols won the door prize. Three further gifts had been donated as raffle prizes, Emily Hepburn being the first number drawn. Maureen Barwick supplied us with an excellent quiz - with clues this time. Olive Norwood and Marjory Nichols had the highest score. Maureen also entertained us with one of her many funny stories. Some members of the committee had baked some beautiful scones, which we relished with our cup of tea. Our next speaker will be Alan Duffy on the topic: Laughter in the Force.
