STUDENTS used the legend of Robin Hood in an environmental project aimed at bringing new wildlife to their school grounds.
The sixth-formers, at Framwellgate School, Durham City, donned the outfits of Robin and his Merry Men for a tree-planting ceremony.
It was part of the school's plans to attract new wildlife to the gardens.
As well as improving their surroundings, pupils have also been enthusiastically involved in raising cash for Durham Wildlife Trust.
Activities included an auction and teachers being placed in the stocks with pupils paying to pelt them.
The Robin Hood project was an initiative devised by the school's sixth form students and will form part of ongoing green activities.
Conservation manager for the Durham Wildlife Trust, Terry Coult, who attended the ceremony, has also received a donation from the school for his organisation.
