A TRUSTED carer for a blind woman stole from her bank account in a series of cash-point withdrawals.
Julie Wilkinson, 36, stole £5,090 during a 17-month period.
Durham Crown Court heard that Wilkinson, who had no previous convictions, accepted the figure brought by the prosecution.
Wilkinson, of Malvern Crescent, Seaham, County Durham, who was trusted to use the victim's cashpoint card, admitted a single charge of theft covering the period from November 2002 to April this year.
Sentence was adjourned by Judge Richard Lowden, pending preparation of reports on Wilkinson by the probation service. He also asked for medical reports.
Granting bail on condition she had no contact with the victim, Judge Lowden told her: "Don't read anything into the fact I've adjourned the case and granted you bail as any indication as to the likely sentence you will receive. This is a serious matter."
