A MAN who left his friend lying in a pool of blood after stabbing him during a row over what music they should listen to was jailed yesterday.
Anthony Lynch plunged a knife into Michael Straughan's thigh, severing his femoral artery and causing severe loss of blood.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the pair had wrestled over the remote control for the music system.
Lynch, of Fitzroy Terrace, Southwick, Sunderland, admitted unlawful wounding.
He also admitted breaching a community rehabilitation order imposed in January last year for theft and assaulting a shopkeeper.
He also pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, common assault and driving without a licence or insurance.
He was jailed for a total of four years and nine months, and banned from driving for five years.
Stuart Graham, for Lynch, told police he had been messing about and accidentally stabbed Mr Straughan.
