A FRENCH pianist, who will face rap star Eminem in court over allegations of copying his work, is to perform in the region next month.
Jacques Loussier and his trio will appear at Darlington Civic Theatre for one night, performing music by Bach, Satie, Vivaldi, Ravel and Debussy, including The Four Seasons and Bolero.
The performance, on Tuesday, October 5, is part of a tour celebrating Loussier's 70th birthday and the 20th anniversary of the trio.
The pianist is embroiled in a legal wrangle with chart-topper Eminem and his record company. He is seeking £7m after alleging that the track Kill You copied his jazz-fusion song Pulsion.
Loussier is looking for a ban on the broadcast of the track, which appears on Eminem's album The Marshall Mathers LP, claiming the backing track to Kill You is strikingly similar to his instrumental.
