A hotel and conference centre said the upbeat mood among the North-East business community had led to record trading figures.
The Sleep Inn, in Darlington, said increased conference demand had pushed its bookings up 25 per cent on last year and seen the occupancy rise to 80 per cent.
The rise in demand has seen the hotel add two conference suites. The hotel, which opened two years ago, said wider optimism in the regional business community had helped trade.
