FIFTEEN youth football teams have been kitted out with strips and tracksuits.
The kit, given to the sides run by Consett YMCA Juniors FC, was bought with money from The Children's Fund, the YMCA Movement Trust and Consett YMCA.
The money was given to support more than 300 boys and girls from Derwentside who play football.
Billy Robson, of Consett YMCA, said: " Football is just the vehicle. Players also take part in outdoor and adventure activities, quasar laser, bowling, educational visits and competitions.
"Some of the teams have played abroad and we have our under-16s girls going to play in Hungary in October and the under-16s boys are going to Israel."
The club is the only one in the area to gain FA Charter Community Club status, the highest club award that the FA gives.
Consett YMCA Juniors club secretary David Pyke said: "The achievement of obtaining the FA Charter Community Club was fantastic after years of hard work enhanced by the partnership with Consett YMCA."
Eight to 17-year-olds who are interested in joining can call (01207) 502680 or 501852.
