A scheme to replace a timber bungalow in the green belt with a stone building has been recommended for refusal by planners.
The applicants want to build the bungalow on a field near Mount Pleasant Farm, Gallowgate Lane, in Weeton.
Planners have been told that the applicants own and live at the farm with their son and that four generations of the family have farmed the site.
Planning officer Andy Hough will recommend refusal when members of the area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council meet tomorrow.
He said the property would detract from the rural landscape within the green belt.
