WITH a name like Tramp, it would not be a surprise to learn that this dog arrived at a Darlington rehoming centre looking a mess.
With wounds to his leg and body, and painfully thin, it was clear to staff at the Dogs Trust, in Sadberge, that Tramp had been through a tough time.
But, since his arrival in February, the six-year-old brown lurcher has recovered to full strength, and is looking for a new owner to give him a fresh start.
Sarah Shreeve, from the centre, said: "We think Tramp must have been hit by a car before he was brought into us, because he had two puncture wounds to his hind leg and body. Considering what we think he must have been through, he is a very trusting dog, and so friendly. He has been with us for almost eight months, and he really deserves to be part of a loving home.
"We get a lot of greyhound and lurcher dogs and potential owners seem to just pass Tramp by, but we don't know why because he would make a wonderful pet."
Tramp would not be able to be rehomed with another dog. For more information, call the centre on (01325) 333114.
