CHILDREN enjoyed a teddy bears' picnic at Saltburn Library yesterday.
The youngsters, aged between two and four, made teddy bear masks and listened to stories at the event, which was held to encourage toddlers to become interested in going to the library.
Librarian Maggie Doyle said the event had been very successful.
She said: "We held the event to launch a new term of parent and toddler pop-in sessions held every Monday afternoon between 1.45pm and 2.45pm at the library.
"It is a chance for the youngsters to experience the pleasure of books and the fun they can have at the library.
"We've got lots of lovely toys that have been donated to us and every fortnight the toy library pays a visit where parents can borrow toys for their children.
"The sessions are also a good place for parents to meet."
