MOTORISTS face delays because of resurfacing work on Saltburn Bank, in Saltburn.
Diversions are in place, along the A174 - Apple Orchard Bank and Skelton bypass, the A173 and Saltburn Road - for the next two weeks.
Visitors can still access the lower promenade and its businesses by using the cliff lift, which will remain open for an extra week, until October 10.
The lift will then operate weekends-only until October 31 before its winter shutdown.
Work on the 300-metre stretch of road, which will cost £65,000 to complete, will be carried out by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's strategic partner, Alfred McAlpine.
