POLICE have released security camera pictures of a suspected burglar who stole £1,500 and credit cards from the England cricket team's dressing room during a recent match in the North-East.
Wallets belonging to England captain Michael Vaughan and bowler Darren Gough were stolen from the unlocked dressing room as the players practised ahead of June's one-day defeat to New Zealand at the Riverside ground, in Chester-le-Street.
Vaughan, who lost £1,200 - money he had been paid to cover expenses - as well as a photograph of his baby, Tallulah, and a match ticket autographed by batsman Brian Lara to commemorate the West Indian's world record 400 not out against England.
Gough lost £300 as well as 17 credit and debit cards from his wallet.
One of the cards was used later the same evening to draw money from a cash point machine in Peterlee.
Police have issued a description of the suspect, who was white, clean-shaven and bald.
At the time of the incident, sometime between 4pm and 6pm on Monday, June 28, he was wearing a dark coat, light blue shirt and light blue jeans.
A man answering the description was seen leaving the Riverside car park in a green Vauxhall Vectra.
