A COMIC opera by Donizette, The Elixir of Love, is being staged in the village hall at Mickleton, near Barnard Castle, on Saturday.
Northern Opera scored a hit with the production at Whitley Bay Playhouse this year. The opera was first staged as Elisir d'Amore in Milan in 1832, but the company says it still appeals to modern audiences. John Wise, of Northern Opera, said: "This is a superb show, and I'm sure everyone who goes to the village hall is in for a real treat."
Tickets, costing £5, can be obtained from Mr Wise on (01833) 637227 or from G and J Newsagents, in Middleton in Teesdale, or the Mercury Shop, in Barnard Castle.
