THE Royal Navy is holding three presentation nights in the North-East this week.
The Royal Navy presentation team will give a detailed account of the challenges that the modern Navy faces and explain how taxpayers' money is spent.
Business executives, councillors, schools and the public are all invited to take part in the multi-media presentation and question time.
The team's senior presenter, Commander Ross Thoburn, who is a trained helicopter navigator, said: "We want to ensure that people leave our presentation with a greater appreciation of the Navy in defending Britain's interests worldwide.
"We need a Navy in the 21st Century and the Royal Navy is a world class Navy that is ready to fight, and win."
The team will be visiting the Stadium of Light, in Sunderland, today, Linden Hall Hotel, in Longhorsley, near Morpeth, tomorrow, and Hall Garth Golf and Country Club, Darlington, on Thursday.
Guests are asked to arrive at 6.30pm, with presentations starting at 7pm. Refreshments will be available.
Anyone wanting to attend any of the meetings is asked to call Lieutenant Commander Richard Simmonds on (0208) 833 8028.
