CONTEMPORARY art enthusiasts will be able to find out more about the latest developments in the art world tomorrow through a lecture.
Caroline Worthington, York Museums Trust's curator of fine art, will give a talk at York St Mary's gallery, starting at 6.30pm.
The former church opened this summer as a new contemporary art venue for the city.
It is showing an exhibition of work by leading international artists, called A Light Crescendo - Art Illuminating York St Mary's.
It runs until October 30 and features work from Langlands and Bell, who are nominated for this year's Turner Prize, Lawrence Weiner, from New York, Michelangelo Pistoletto, from Italy, and Jaume Plensa, from Barcelona.
All the works share the theme of light, inspired by the stained glass windows of the former church, including work in neon, mirrors, glass, projections and electric lights.
York St Mary's is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm. It also runs weekly free family art days every Saturday, from 11am to 1pm, and 2pm to 5pm, until October 16.
Activities include silhouette portraiture, creative writing and stained glass window and lantern making.
