THE last of three public events designed to help shape the future of a market town takes place this weekend.
Two consultation sessions organised by Thirsk Regeneration Initiative have already been held and on Saturday, people will get the chance to discuss and prioritise ideas for the town.
Independent consultant David Potts, of David Potts Associates, is working on behalf of the initiative as the organisation seeks to become a permanent body after funding from the Yorkshire Forward Market Towns Initiative runs out next spring.
Steering committee chairman Lindsay Ross, who is managing director of Thirsk-based integrated design build company Severfield-Reeve Projects, said: "We have had a good turn-out to our two previous events and some interesting and innovative ideas have been put forward.
"This feedback meeting is important because it will give local people a chance to discuss, evaluate and help prioritise these suggestions into a proper formal programme of work, as well as meet any members of the steering committee to discuss becoming more involved with the partnership."
The event takes place at the Three Tuns Hotel, Market Place, Thirsk, between 10am and 4pm.
The programme of activity discussed on Saturday will be formally ratified at the initiative's annual meeting on December 1.
