PREPARATIONS are well under way for the annual Yarm Town Fair later this month.
The fair takes place from Thursday, October 14, to Saturday, October 16, and, as usual, will involve the closure of the High Street through the town.
The road will be closed between 6pm and 9pm on Tuesday, October 12, when the show people arrive to set up the fair.
On the Thursday and Friday it will be closed from 6pm-midnight, while on the Saturday the closure is from 11am-midnight.
At Tuesday night's meeting of Yarm Town Council, members were also told that the High Street will be closed from 6am-5pm on Sunday, October 17, the day after the fair, to allow Stockton Borough Council to mark out new parking bays on the cobbles.
Residents felt to do the work immediately following the fair would minimise disruption
